This past Friday we alerted you to the fact that the identities of three of four US consumers tracked by Equifax was compromised a couple of months ago. If you clicked on the Equifax link we provided and found that you are among those impacted, the link offers free enrollment in Equifax’s credit watch program known as TrustedID Premier on a date in the near future.
You may wish to take a further step to protect your credit by placing a credit freeze on your records. A credit freeze is a tool that lets you restrict access to your credit report, making it more difficult for identity thieves to open new accounts in your name.
