Jared Korver, CPA, CFP®

Director | Lead Advisor

The first piece of financial advice I can remember receiving came at the age of seven, from my parents, when I wanted a new guitar. This advice took the form of two words: “start saving.” So I got a job on a paper route, saved every dime, and bought that Martin guitar.

I learned a lot about life through the process of saving for that guitar—a lot about opportunities (personally uncontrollable), hard work (personally controllable), and good advice (a little of both). I think achieving dreams requires a good measure of all three.

My purpose as a financial advisor is to listen to and understand what is most important to my clients. Only then is great advice crafted–advice that enables you to live confidently and fully. Through the creation and continual monitoring of a plan based on your specific priority of life goals, and through avoiding things that erode your wealth—like taxes, expenses, and underperforming the market—my job is to efficiently and effectively help you realize your most important aspirations for life.

After beginning my career as a CPA at Ernst & Young LLP, I was drawn to Beacon’s unique value proposition and the vision we have for changing the investing world. A product of small-town North Carolina (Carthage, to be exact), I’m proudly married to my best friend and co-adventurer, Amy. Together, we have two sons–Miles and Charlie–and could more or less start a library from our home. I love being outside, can’t read enough, am in the habit of writing haikus, and find food and coffee to be among life’s greatest treasures.
