Interested in learning more?

We want every person who’s interested in our services to have the chance to see what we do at no cost to them. That way there’s freedom to make decisions that are best for everyone.
If you’d like to schedule a call with one of us to hear more before embarking on this journey, please do so!

Our Process

Discovery Meeting

This is a chance for us to hear from you about what’s important to you. What are your values, the things that make you tick? As the conversation progresses we’ll start to translate those values into some specific financial goals that align with your values, and you’ll of course get to know about us as well. Expect this meeting to last about 90 minutes.

Initial Plan Review

After the Discovery Meeting, we’ll take what we hear and begin crafting a financial plan from it. While we are firm believers that financial planning is most effective when it is an ongoing process, this Initial Plan Review serves to give prospective clients a better idea of what that actually looks like. Expect this meeting to last about 60-90 minutes.

Beyond a copy of the plan that you can take with you to help you make a decision to hire us or not, here are some of the things you can expect from this meeting:

WHAT’S POSSIBLE?

Often what people are looking for when they come to us is clarity around what’s even possible for their financial future. College for kids? Retirement? Start a business? This meeting will start to put some legs (and numbers) to these desires.

WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN?

It’s one thing to know what’s possible, it’s another thing altogether to know what steps you need to take to make those possibilities a reality. Saving (how much and where?), investing (what about risk?), and other opportunities to take advantage of–we’ll start digging into these.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

In addition to focusing on your priorities, we will highlight other areas of your financial life that you can improve. Things like: making sure you get your estate planning documents in order, having an appropriate amount of life and disability insurance, or taking advantage of an employer 401(k) match, just to name a few.

Organization

If you decide to come work with us, much of the first few months of our relationship will involve helping you get your financial life in order. This includes consolidating accounts, working to build a household investment strategy, automating every financial decision that can be automated, and more.

We believe this process of simplifying your life is one of the best things you can do financially, and it has lots of non-financial benefits as well!

Implentation & Ongoing Review

Concurrent with the organization of your finances is the implementation of the steps you need to begin taking to reach your goals. We’ll work with you and other professionals as needed to make sure these important steps get done, and then we’ll meet multiple times each year to update you on progress, see if any new goals have come up or any life events have happened that necessitate a change in the plan.

This ongoing process of implementation of advice and ongoing review helps ensure that you are able to take advantage of opportunities and avoid threats in incremental, manageable steps along the way, rather than being forced to make big changes all of a sudden.
